Went to a very cool (pun intended) ice cream place Wednesday night — Amy’s Ice Creams on Burnet Road in north Austin. Great atmosphere. The friendly people of Texas just keep on coming. My friend and I got our ice cream and when we went to pay, the young lady behind the cash register smiled at us and said, “Our credit card machine isn’t working tonight, so if y’all don’t have cash, your ice cream is on me!” Now, she was just so gosh-darn cute, there was no way we weren’t going to pay for the ice cream. Another bit of Austin-area flavor that we will definitely visit again.
