2015_Day 317: When is it OK to put up outside Christmas decorations?

I rarely get in the Christmas spirit before December, but this year I already feel like shopping for outside decorations. I think it’s because it’s so much easier to put up outside decorations in central Texas compared to Wisconsin.

Hence the need to shop – since we didn’t do outside decorations in Wisconsin, I don’t really have any.

But the question is, when is the appropriate time to put them up? I’m thinking I should wait at least until after Thanksgiving (assuming I go shopping by then).

What do you think?

There are Christmas lights already going up in our ‘hood. We hold out, however, as it’s tradition for the tree (’98 artificial) to go up on Thanksgiving, the rest following shortly thereafter. As for outdoor lights/etc., it’s like mulching — always weather permitting come November. It’s always raining!
