Yes, it’s a little late, but we finally got a couple pumpkins carved for Halloween. Well, daughter did the carving, but it got done. She found a Mickey Mouse pattern, drew it on, then carved away! I think she forgot how tiring it can be because she decided to freehand the second pumpkin, which is still being worked on as I write this.
First thing to do? Cut a hole in the top.
Then dig out all the slime and save the seeds for mom to clean and roast (more on that tomorrow).
Draw on the design.
Then start carving.
Keep carving and soon you end up with …
A pumpkin whose face totally looks like Mickey Mouse. Don’t you agree?
Love it! So much fun. We quit carving last year because it sucks when four kids suddenly abandon their pumpkin projects, leaving Dad to finish up. Pumpkin seeds are the BEST.

Poor Dad! So far, so good here. I love it, since it’s time I get to spend with Cassie. At almost 17, those times are getting a lot fewer. (Can’t wait to roast the pumpkin seeds, hopefully tonight!)
