It’s days like today that I feel like such a newbie to flowers. I saw these beautiful plants at a local store and they took my breath away! I don’t recall ever seeing them before and didn’t know what they were until I read the information card tucked into the dirt of one. Anthuriums, it said. Amazing, I thought.
A Google search after I got home revealed anthuriums to be a fairly common flowering house plant. I feel silly that I’ve never come across it before. Surely I would have remembered such an exquisite flower, right? (“House plant” sounds so ordinary for such a beautiful plant.)

I didn’t buy one right away because I couldn’t decide which color I liked best. But you can bet I’ll be back soon. Just as soon as I catch my breath.
