Today I noticed the start of a third tiny pumpkin on Wanda, my wandering pumpkin plant. I put arrows on the photo pointing to each of them; the newest one is hard to see otherwise. Continue reading

2015_Day 276: When one plant dies, buy another

Given that my experiment to grow fall tomatoes from seed failed, I checked out tomato plants today while shopping. At the grocery store. I think I tried plants from HEB (a popular Texas grocer) last fall, but I planted those in planters on my patio. Today’s beauties, however, were destined for the raised beds, which were only an idea in my head last fall. Continue reading

2015_Day 272: Clean(ed) at last

2015_Day 267: Thankful for Throwback Thursdays
I’m glad that today is “Throwback Thursday,” because it not only gives me a chance to share photos of flowers from my past life (i.e. when I lived in Wisconsin), but it also lets me get away with a quick post after a long day at work. Continue reading
2015_Day 266: Flowers that glow and weeds that grow
I didn’t notice it until today, but the latest blooms on my pink daisies have white tips on the petals that almost make the flowers glow. So pretty! Continue reading
2015_Day 264: My pumpkin is missing!

I’m bummed. Took a look at Wanda (my wandering pumpkin) after supper tonight, only to find that the tiny pumpkin that was on the vine is no longer there. I think I see the dried little stump where it was, but it’s not anywhere on the mulch or grass nearby. Continue reading
