Although I really want to get the plants and seeds I bought in the soil, part of me is OK with having to wait until Sunday or divide the planting between Thursday and Sunday. It will give the soil a chance to settle in the beds. Not to mention that the last four days have been exhausting and I wouldn’t mind relaxing a bit. Hauling dirt is hard work!
But I’m also looking forward to seeing rows of veggies in the beds. I do love the daily anticipation for the first week to 10 days after seeds are planted, looking at the dirt each day to see whether seeds have sprouted. And oh, when you finally do see the first seed sprout and a cute little green stem poke through the soil! If that isn’t garden glee, I don’t know what is. Soon, even with rain in the forecast, it will come soon.
