2015_Day 141: Flower power is peace, happiness

No matter what my day is like, I can always count on the flowers in my backyard to make me smile. They make a good day even better and a crappy day more than bearable. Continue reading

2015_Day 140: Seeing yellow, I think

I may be a little paranoid, but I think my cucumber leaves are turning yellow. Or at least the tops of them. We’ve had a lot of rain lately, so I’m wondering if that’s the culprit. Or maybe it’s just that the younger leaves are yellow and will turn darker green as they mature. Continue reading

2015_Day 139: What’s turnaround time on planting seeds I’ve harvested?

How long should I wait to plant the marigold seeds I’ve harvested from the flowers in my garden? Can I plant them this fall or do I need to wait until next spring? Continue reading

2015_Day 138: Tomatoes don’t fail me now

2015_Day 135: Flowering sage a pretty surprise

I got a lovely surprise tonight — the Green Cloud Sage shrubs are flowering on the side of the house. We transplanted them on March 15, and truth be told, I’d kind of forgotten about them. Continue reading

2015_Day 134: Sensational sunset

If storms and cooler weather are responsible for the beautiful sunset central Texas was graced with Wednesday night, I say “More please!” Continue reading

2015_Day 133: The garden grows green (and a little orange)

I always like to track the progress of things — my garden, DIY projects, etc. And today I wondered how differently my vegetable garden looks from when I planted it in late March. Continue reading

2015_Day 132: Raindrops on… everything

Given how wet it’s been lately, it only seems appropriate that today’s garden photos reflect the rain. Continue reading
